Punjab - the land of five rivers - lies in North West India. In the Vedic Era, Punjab was called ‘Sapat Sindu’. Sapat Sindu means the land of seven rivers - the Sindu, Jehlum, Ravi, Chenab, Beas, Satluj and Yamuna.
