Newyork : "I was in graduation final year. 'Preetladi' published my story and famous writer Santokh Singh Dheer wrote a letter to me. I shared the letter with my friends while in the college canteen. 'What's biggy ? Its only a punjabi story !!', the words of one of the guys from the group knocked my heart. Those words changed my life and gave me direction and determination and I made up my mind to devote my life for punjabi journalism, punjabi literature and language". These were the lines which were presented by Mr. Baldev Singh Grewal, the chief editor of Sher-E-Panjab newspaper during the recent meeting of Punjabi Sahit Academy, Newyork (http://www.psany.org). The meeting was held at  the residence of punjabi poet Balbir Singh Dhumaili in newyork.

As an opening of the function, Punjabi poet Randhir Singh (Newyork) read, a writing by Jasbir Singh Sethi, about Baldev Singh's novel "Parikarma".

In reference to that writing and the novel, Mr. Prem Mann mentioned how much he was impressed by the writing style he observed in the novel "parikarma". He also recommened to read this to novel to Ram Saroop Ankhi in his letter to him.

As per Daljit Maikha, he could not resist putting the novel away and as his mind and heart forced him to complete it whole in one sitting.

Surinder Sohal pictorised the demolished house in the novel as the loneliness of the main character and its dreams.

The audiences added to the silence and commenting on this silence Mr Randhir Singh(NewYork) said that this silence prooves the success of the novel and is also the unuttered climax of today's meeting.
