Yes its true all three Passport Seeker, Pasport Office and Passport Agent are kind of football player where passport gets kicked betwen. Well if it would have been only the office and the applicant the game would have been much better , but passport agents play the double role in the game like a referee and a player. here's what i think see
People in punjab are queueing early morning in front of the passport office and every day in the hope that today will be the last day and they will have their passort ready and will go abroad. But in the evening they return home with one of the old answer which everyone know like "Office has asked for an affidavit", "Agents say , we have to frame the application differntly", "Today agent did not came , will have to go again after a week" etc etc are the common experience which the people of punjab have to go through. I guess first thing to note here is that the majority of the passport applications go through Passport Agents which make their share even before the application reaches in front of the passport clerk. And when it reaches to the clerk, The clerk also want some pocket money ( lower wages cant handle this much work ). So who has to pay, Straight forward, the applicant, At last he is the one who has to fly in the airplane and go to Dream Country. Are the people in punjab so illiterate who cant even fillup the application themself. What the hell, If they cant fillup an applciation , i guess its sad and i feel sorry for them. And why the hell everyone has to knock the door of an agent who simply fill in the application and charge the cost of making an application. Punjab Govt must do something for this, i guess they should open at least one counter at their each office for assitance of fiiling application and make a life easy. |
