The bus services between India and Pakistan have failed to attract passengers, said Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu. In Mar-2006 there were two bus services, Amritsar-Lahore and Amritsar Nankana Sahib, were started with a great fanfare and the voyage were anticipated to provide easy visits across borders. Service has failed to
to fullfill the expectations of the people.
Accompanied by press group, Mr Navjot visited the international bus terminal located on G.T Road and expressed dismay that in the absence of any policy the Central Government was forced to play nearly empty buses on these routes. He further said the passengers wishing to travel on these buses had to faced security and bureaucratic hurdles. He blamed the Central Government for deliberately denying the people of the state free travel to their holy shriness in pakistan. He urged the government to relax visa restriction and open up a visa centre in Amritsar. |
