Punjabi School Norway Celebrates it Annual Function

punjabi in norwayOslo: Norway (Rupinder Dhillon Moga ) : Punjabi School Norway celebrated its annual vaisakhi function in which local residents took active part to make the celebration a huge success.

The programme included Turban Tying competition and gidda-bhangra by yound kids which became the main attraction among the audiences. The school childrens also presented poems and skits.

This punjabi school started 11 years back with an aim to bring punjabi language closer to the young generation. The teaching in this school includes teaching verbal punjabi and also written punjabi. The credit of the success of this school goes to Mr. Avtar Singh, the principal, and his whole staff who have added great efforts in running the school which now has more than 300 students on the roll.

Apart from teaching punjabi language, school also focuses on teaching culture and history of punjab.

The school committe members Mr. Avtar Singh, Balwinder Kaur, Mukhtiar Singh, Kamaljit Kaur, Rashpinder Singh, Jasvir Kaur, Varinder Kaur, Sukhchain Singh, Harnek Singh Deol, Mahinder Singh and Tejpal Singh have played an active role along with many local personalities.

    It is really nice to read that the people who are away from Punjab really keeps our religion thoughts alive by including the programme like Turban Tying competition & others. Where as in Punjab our youth’s are not changing the moral values of Sikhism by Trimming and let of their hairs. .

    Keeping the moral values of one’s religion alive in a non-native country is really a formidable task.I highly praise the spirit of all school staff,prinicipal and especially children for learning Punjabi .
