Yuba City Punjabi Mela, Reflection of Punjab
Punjabi American Heritage Society, Yuba city organized a grand Punjabi mela at Yuba Sutter fairgrounds on May-24-2009 showcasing the reflection of punjab in its colorful form. The 15th Yuba city Punjabi mela attracted more than 15,000 Punjabi and non-Punjabi families and friends from the region making it a grand success. The fair reflected punjabi culture and its traditions.
The whole day long colorful event where you could see stalls by local businesses and stage organized shows and art programs by various artist and school/college students along with local enthusiastic. Few specialized booths showcased the traditional art and hertiage related exhibitions.
University students presented the traditional bhangra and gidda dance which was the center of attraction for localites along with folk singers specially invited from Punjab.
All together the the event brought punjab to California Yuba Sutter fairgrounds which everyone will remember for days to come.
