Waris Shah - Ishq Daa Waaris

Gurdas Mann plays the role of famous music lover “Waris Shah” and has a mission to write the love story of Heer Ranjha as asked by his guru Makhdoom. The story of the film is from the reign of Mughal Period. Mughal emperor Akbar lifted music and other forms of art as he himself loved it, but when Aurangzeb becmae the ruler, Aurangzeb banned all music and arts and started musicians and art lovers to be prosecuted. Aurangzeb believed that music takes human being away from GOD therefore one should not practice musical arts etc.
